Sound — Effects

An illustrated story:

Here is an example of how sound effects may be incorporated into a web page. As you read the 'story' click on the pictures and an appropriate sound effect will play.

 

Doctor Evil was thinking of his favourite kitten . Realising this, Pingu decided he would pretend to shoot the kitten. Shaun the sheep realised what Pingu had in mind and said it would be wrong to do that. Isn't Shaun a star .

You may have noticed the page took some time to load. This is because all the sound files were downloaded before the page was displayed, a necessary evil otherwise the sound file would have to be downloaded on the 'click' and the relevance (and immediacy) of the effect would be lost.
